Just remember that there are many people who have trouble "decoding" printed material. Many manuals, including those in the military, look like "comic books" for a reason. They are produced for the education of users, not for the "artistic" expression of the photographer.
Very true. One picture and two arrows can usually convey a short paragraph of text, and with better retention by the reader.
I will say, with the prominence of tablets and smartphones, video instruction has almost become easier for both teaching and learning. Too bad many people are still stuck in the realm of slides. PowerPoint poisoning can ruin a video very quickly.
