Rails on the move

Gone are the days of the gandy dancers laying segmented rail.  Now rails are rolled in pieces up to 480 feet and welded into quarter mile long sections that are then transported by special trains like this one.

Lord Nelson

Does anyone else find those vinyl safety stickers as unnerving as I do?  


According to my 1943 edition of 'British Locomotive Types' this superheated 4-6-0 has a tender capacity of 5 tons of coal, 500 gallons of water and produces a tractive effort of 33,500 lbs at 85% boiler pressure.
